Be an active participant in the performance management process. It begins with the development of action plans that include goals, communication strategies, training and development opportunities, participation on high performance teams, understanding shared values and vision, and coming through in a pinch.  But don’t go it alone. Involve subject matter experts, mentors to fill in the knowledge gaps and consult with your career coach to prepare for difficult conversations.

Strategic Planning is key to taking charge of the steps you’ll need to take to stay current in your profession and/or industry. Business strategies require a vision and a plan.
